Donici commune seeks funding from MSIF

Monday, July 19, 2010, was held the General Community Meeting of Donici commune (consisting of three villages: Donici, Camencea, Pocsesti), in order to get funding from MSIF-2 program for implementing a community project.

During the meeting there were discussed the major problems of the commune: gasification, construction of water supply, roads repair, school renovation etc.  The priority was given to building of an aqueduct.

The meeting was held in a participatory manner with the presence of over than 300 inhabitants of the commune.

Mrs.Natalia Sandu, MSIF representative, presented program principles and conditions which the community must meet to access a grant. 

Vera Caruntu, Mayor of Donici, explained to those present what is the essence of implementation a MSIF project and what the community will gain after it.

At the end of the meeting there was approved the component of the Implementing Agency. Meanwhile, the initiative group together with the mayor will hold a referendum to get the subproject's approval by the entire population of the village. The maximum amount of grant offered by MSIF-2 is 75,000 dollars, with the Community contribution - 15%.
