Economic Development

Telenesti district is characterized as a predominantly agrarian area and all the efforts are focused on supporting and developing the priority directions of agriculture, but also encouraging the economy development.

At the moment in Telenesti district are working 27 places of artificial sowing, 16 points of milk collection and 12 veterinary points. The milk collection in the district is developing by 2 enterprises “Incomlac” Balti city and “Lapmol” Chisinau city. Also in the district operates 2 authorized animal markets (Telenesti, Saratenii Vechi), 2 poultry abattoirs (Avicola Băneşti şi Avicola Sărătenii Vechi), and 7 abattoirs slaughtering cattle, pigs and sheep.  12 operators are holders of the incubator facilities.

The most developed sector in Telenesti district is agro-food and the social development program provides concrete measures for development of agro-food enterprises (processing).

The food and beverage industry progress has been achieved in enterprise’s activity which is based on:  processing and preserving fruits and vegetables, production, processing and manufacture of bread and pastry, oil production.

In the district operates:

- 14 of the 19 mills for wheat grinding;

- 6 of the 10 corn mills;

- 25 of the 37 mini oil factories existing (they just produce oil);

- 6 of the 11 existing bakeries;

- 13 Incubators with seasonal work scheme.

The total number of employees in industrial enterprises is 890 employees; the average of calculated monthly salary is 1086 lei.

The industry of Telenesti district requires a sustainable development,  at present monetary value of industrial production occupies an insignificant role in the formation of local GDP.
