Orientation Meeting in the village of Zahoreni

On Friday, March 18, 2011, “ADR-Center” NGO, in partnership with Zahoreni village, held an orientation meeting within the “Partnership for Development” project.

The discussion topics included:

• Familiarizing participants with the project;
• Election of the Local Community Initiative Group (LCIG), by secret ballot;
• Election of the Tender and Monitoring Commission (TMC), by open vote;
• Establishing the procedures for further activity within the project.

More than 90 residents of Zahoreni attended the meeting and elected the LCIG  of seven people. Mrs. Olga Lupascu (director of Zahoreni Gymnasium) was elected leader of the initiative group. In addition, the group formed the TMC of five people and appointed Mrs. Ana Popa, Zahoreni mayoralty, chief accountant, chairman of the committee.

On March 1, 2011, ADR-Center signed a grant contract with the East European Foundation for the project “Partnership for Development.” The project’s purpose is to strengthen local economic partnerships in the village of Zahoreni, Orheiand conserve heat inside the school gymnasium.

The “Partnership for Development” is implemented by ADR-Center Orhei with the financial support of Eastern European Foundation with funds provided by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark / DANIDA.
