Traditions and Culture

In 2007, in Telenesti district were operating 94 cultural institutions. These institutions are: 44 cultural centers with a quota of 124 employees, 47 libraries with 108 employees, 1 district’s music school where are working - 14 teachers and are studying - 140 children, 1 arts school with 150 children, 1 District’s Museum - 1 employee. There is no theater or cinema in the district, all are concentrated in Chişinău. Sport life of the people is represented by a poorly developed infrastructure. There is 1 stadium with stands established by over 500 places that need renovation and development, 40 sports facilities which also are not arranged, and some serve as pasture land. Socio-cultural life of the inhabitants of the district is represented mainly by organizing national and local holidays. Celebrations and cultural activities are organized at the local level. At the district level annually are held competitions and festivals. In normal days rest and leisure activities are limited.  The outdoor recreation prevails in the district.

 

To reinvigorate the social and cultural life in the district it is needed a renovation of cultural institutions, sport land planning, establishment of artistic groups and attract young professionals in the cultural field.
