Workshop: "Identifying development priorities"

Workshop Agenda

1. Presentation of workshop objectives and participants.

Objectives:

• To identify the development priorities for Orhei district;
• To motivate the mayors to apply the participative methods in decision-making process;
• To familiarize the mayors with holistic model of assessment and community development.

2. Distribution of participants in 8 work-teams (under the community development component). Distribution is making from the time of registration – each participant gets a ticket with a component name. The classroom spaces should be highlighted for each component.
The aim: To analyze the problems of the component.

3.  Presentation of Orhei region analysis of the development (in terms of strategic objectives set out 3 years ago).

4. Continuation of group work: expanding the list of problems.

5. Presentation of the information on donors’ strategies.

6. Continuation of group work
The aim: Arguments need to solve identified problems (using information about balanced development strategies and donors).

7. Change the teams’ component: in each team are representatives from each group / component.
The aim: Present previously identified problems. Select 3 priority problems for solving. Prove the decision.

8. Presentation and debating on the priority problems.
